With God...All Things Are Possible

Hey Everybody...
We just met with Dr. Bradley and he is very pleased with Parker's surgery.  Since Parker had two holes in the wall of his heart, Dr. Bradley decided that he would remove the portion of the wall of his heart between the two holes and gave him one large patch.  After reviewing the echo before closing Parker's chest he said that he did not see any other VSD's.  He said that Parker did not struggle at all during surgery.  Parker will be on a ventilator until they are comfortable taking him off.  They will not allow him to breathe on his own until then.  Parker will be heavily sedated for the first 48 hours.  Dr. Bradley used "cow muscle" to patch the hole, along with a muscle graft from Parker's heart for the repair.  He anticipate's that Parker will never have any complications with the repair that he did today.  Dr. Bradley also said that as Parker's heart grows...his heart will grow around the patch and the patch will always stay the same size for the rest of his life.  Willis and I both, with tears in our eyes, thanked Dr. Bradley from the bottom of our hearts for what he did in Parker's life this morning. We both gave him a huge hug.  He truly is "next to God".  He worked a miracle in Parker's life that we will never forget.   He saved our sons life this morning and we will forever be greatful for him and his mission of restorative surgery.  We will be able to go back and see Parker around 1:30.  We can't wait to put our eyes on him.  Thanks so much for your love, support, comments on the blog and prayers.

  10. Hey Willis and Amy, this is Karen Auld, I met you once Willis, at the USC game. I am Gene Auld's wife. Anyway, I just want to say that Parker is beautiful! I know how trying these times can be...but those doctors are AMAZING!!
As you may know, my son Peyton had a complete AV canal repair, Dr Bradley did not perform his surgery, his was done by Dr. Crawford, also at MUSC. The staff and doctors are all wonderful there. 4 years after Peyton had his heart surgery at MUSC my niece was the youngest heart transplant at MUSC, Dr. Bradley performed her surgery and I know first hand how AMAZING he is! You are in good hands, with God, of course but also the hospital. I hope to get to meet little Parker sometime, and you too Amy. God Bless!
