"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.---Galations 6:9

Hey Everybody...
Boy, what a day we had yesterday.  We finally took the plung and cast both of Parkers' feet.  He did really well to begin with.  The wrapping was pretty easy at first ....but once the first mold was hardened on each foot, they had to bring out the really LOUD cutting machine to trim back the necessary parts of the casts.  And let's just say Parker did not like any part of the last hour of his appointment.  We are having to walk everywhere with him or hold him all the time because he is so unsteady on his own.  Bad thing is....he is at the age where he wants no help and extremely open about not wanting to be bothered with these casts!  Night time has been a bit of a challenge because he loves to sleep with his knees up to his chest with his little bottom stuck up in the air and he can't get in that position right now.  So just say a little extra prayer for us this week. Overall we could not be more proud of him!  He is such a blessing to us.  And as the scripture plainly states.....Parker will reap his harvest and he will not give up because in God's time everything will be made new!  We have an appointment on Monday to get the casts' taken off and we will be re-evaluated on Wednesday next week to see if we need a new set of cast's made.  Hopefully NOT!  Also, we will be back down at MUSC on the 28th of this month for our eye appointment to check the progress of that in hopes for a surgery date!  We love you all so much and please continue to keep us in your daily prayers!

Thank You... Thank You... Thank You.....

Hey Everybody...
Our Hope For Brave Hearts breakfast went extremely well.  We had over 230 friends and family attend the breakfast this year....and boy did it pay off.  At first, I must admit, the weather made me extremely nervous.  It was pouring down rain, windy and so cold Saturday morning that I just knew it would discourage many of you showing.  BUT, never underestimate the power of Jesus Christ.  We had more friends and family show up early...during the rain storm than we did when the rain subsided.  It was amazing.  Willis and I would like to personally thank each and every one of you that came on our behalf.  Seeing our friends and family walk through those doors, supporting our little man, meant so much!  We will always be grateful for the relationships that we have with each of you.  Please remember, we are having a golf tournament in June, so if you would like to get a group of you together to form a team, or if you would like to golf alone, we would love to see you there!  I will definitely remind you in a few months and get our flyer up on the blog.  Anyway...the donations went well and we were told by Mr. Bruce that we had the highest numbers ever raised for a pancake breakfast!!! So that was pretty exciting!  Anyway...I hope you all had a great weekend and we will post the GRAND TOTAL of donations soon!  Thanks again for everything!

P.S....Remember you can still cast your vote on the T-Shirt Contest at carolinacarters.blogspot.com !!!!

Pancakes, Pancakes, Pancakes......

Hey Everybody...
I wanted to let you all know that we are inviting you to our pancake breakfast.  This week is CHD (Congenital Heart Defect) awareness week and you know what that means....It's FATZ time!  We are meeting again for our 2nd Annual Hope For Brave Hearts breakfast, this Saturday, February 5, 2011, from 7:30-11:00, at FATZ Cafe on Broad River Road in Irmo!  We are so excited about this CHD fundraiser.  Last year, we were able to present a check for $7500.00 to MUSC for heart research!  We really want to up the donations this year and blow their minds......So, Willis and I are asking that you please meet us there for breakfast.  The cost is $7.00 a plate....and let me just add that it is SOOOO Good!  We know how much you love Parker and have prayed for him, so please come out and share your morning with us for a really great cause.  This month in the Lexington Life Magazine there is an article on our sweet little heart friend Derrick Carter.  If you don't get it with your paper, then definitely pick one up around town and read it.  Parker has been a little under the weather for a week now and that has kept us pretty busy around our house.  I have a few photo shoots scheduled that will be payed events that I am extremely excited about so pray that they go well for me!  You all know that photography is my dream.  Outside of singing of course!  Anyway...please pass the word about the breakfast and try your best to be there in honor of our little man and all the other heart parents that will be there Saturday!  We would really appreciate your support!!!
