How Great is Our God!

Hey Everybody...
I wanted to let you all know that Parker is doing so good!  We had a follow-up with our Neurosurgeon today and he has released us from his care!  Oh how wonderful!!! We are so very excited that Parker's brain is fully developed and that it will not require any form of surgery.  I did let Dr. Smith know this morning that Parker is having some "quiet moments" where he will be playing and all of a sudden he will get real still for about 5-8 seconds, but then continues to play.  He let us know that we may want to explore the avenue of a neurologist to rule out any silent seizures that he may be experiencing.  Dr. Smith told us that they have an EEG that they would send Parker home with for 24 hours to see if it picks up any information.  Other than that, Parker is A-Okay!!! Dr. Smith is not at all concerned about Parker's dialated ventricle.  He said that all babies have different sized ventricles and maybe the fluid in Parker's ventricle is supposed to be there.  So....overall we have a very good prognosis for today, and boy will we take it!  We also saw our cardiologist today for a recheck of his pulse ox and it was 98%!  Parker still looks somewhat blue in his face and we wanted to rule out any possibilities of misdiagnosis.  Parker's doctor reassured us today that if it was still a heart related issue then Parker would have right to left shunting not left to right shunting.  So with that said, it is only his veins and thin skin at this point that are keeping him blue!  Please continue to pray for Parker.  I actually started back to work last week full time and boy am I thriving on my "cup of Joe"!   I am up with Parker every 2-3 hours still through the night and have hit the ground running every morning.  Thankfully my job is a full day Monday-Wednesday and a half day on Thursday.... so for the most part I am catching up on my sleep through the weekend!  Parker is staying with his grandma now while I am hard at work and boy is she enjoying that.  We are so blessed not having to take him to a daycare!  Parker has found his tongue this past week and is starting to blow bubbles.  He LOVES the T.V.!  SOOOO FUNNY!  And he loves to be read to!  He really sits and listens to the book from start to finish...although he is learning to grab the book and close it for himself whenever he wants.  I guess that's his way of saying he's heard ENOUGH!  Sorry that it has taken so long to post but today was our first appointment in a while.  Please keep baby Derrick in your prayers for he undergoes his second open heart surgery this Monday at 7am at MUSC!  Our prayers will definitely be with them and the surgical team that everything goes as expected!  We love you all and are so thankful for all of our little blessings today!
